Submission Guidelines

To submit a recipe, you can email Jaidi and she will add you as a contributor.

You can post any recipes you want. Please be sure to follow these two simple guideline.

Please include the title of the recipe in the subject line, and only the recipe itself in the post.

Also, we would like to be able to divide the recipes up by the type. So please include labels on your recipes. Labels are put on your post at the bottom of the edit post window. Labels can be as simple as main dish or dessert to Chicken or beef or however you want to label it. Just make it easy for someone to find.

Dad's Chili

2 lb. hamburger
2 medium or 1 large onion chopped
2 cans Garbanzo Beans or Chili Beans
2 cans Kidney Beans
2 cans Pork and Beans or Bush Beans
2 quarts diced tomatoes
1 shredded carrot (regular sized, not baby carrots)
Salt and Pepper
1 Tbsp Chili Powder (increase or decrease according to your personal preference for heat, if children are going to eat the chili cut the chili pepper in half)
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 tsp. Garlic Salt (optional)
Cook 2-3 hours

Brown hamburger and onion, drain garbanzo and kidney beans, mix all ingredients together in crock pot or large pot and cook 2-3 hours. If using fresh tomatoes, do not drain off the beans.

This filled my 6 quart crock pot! mmmmmm can't wait!

This makes ALOT, but it freezes really well. I put a couple servings in a quart Ziploc bag and freeze the leftovers for a rainy day.

Ya, I'm posting another comment on my own recipe, what of it?!
So when you're ready to dig in, put a spoonful of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese and chives on top....heaven I tell you!
