Submission Guidelines

To submit a recipe, you can email Jaidi and she will add you as a contributor.

You can post any recipes you want. Please be sure to follow these two simple guideline.

Please include the title of the recipe in the subject line, and only the recipe itself in the post.

Also, we would like to be able to divide the recipes up by the type. So please include labels on your recipes. Labels are put on your post at the bottom of the edit post window. Labels can be as simple as main dish or dessert to Chicken or beef or however you want to label it. Just make it easy for someone to find.

Quick Beef lo Mein

Disclaimer: I got this off a blog/internet but didn't document from where. I've made it a lot and really like it.

3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 Tablespoon Chili Paste with Garlic
1/4 teaspoon crushed Red Pepper Flakes
4 Cups cooked Whole Wheat Spaghetti noodles
2 teaspoons Dark Sesame Oil
1 Tablespoon fresh Ginger, peeled and minced
4 Garlic Cloves, minced
3 Cups frozen Broccoli Florets
1 medium Onion, cut in half and thinly sliced
1 lb. Flank Steak, trimmed and cut across the grain into long, thin strips
thinly sliced Green onions to garnish
toasted Sesame Seeds to garnish

In a small bowl combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce, chili paste and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Combine pasta and sesame oil, tossing well to coat.

While pasta cooks, heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ginger, garlic, broccoli and onion and saute for 5 minutes. Add the steak and saute for 5 minutes or until done. Add pasta mixture and soy sauce mixture and cook 1 minute or until thoroughly heated, stirring constantly.

Serve garnished with thinly sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

I don't use Chili Paste or Red Pepper Flakes because I don't like spicy food.

This looks similar to Rachael Ray's recipe. It is in one of her 30 minute meal cookbooks. I will have to compare!
